about

Recorded in the summer of 2004 in Hamden, CT.

NEIL: Even though this EP is only four tracks, I think it's a great accomplishment and shows the ground LD is able to cover as a band.

In the summer of 2004, we had all finished our second year of college and were really in different places than when we wrote E. There was also the sense that this could be it for the band. Early on we decided that the only reason to continue on was to get back to the studio with fresh and interesting music. We'd already had the heavy-riff based pop punk thing down. We needed to push beyond that to challenge ourselves.

Immediately I began writing riffs and ideas. FTWSC was the most collaborative songwriting we've ever done. I'd bring a riff to practice, we'd jam on it, Jim would kick a bass line, Matt would do the arrangements. It was a rewarding creative experience. The songs were longer, more interesting and more mature.

To keep us focused we used these huge pieces of yellow construction paper to write out all of the progressions and changes. A very helpful tool that I highly recommend. I still have the charts.

Again, Paul was great to work with in the studio.

about

Lunatic Dreyfus Massachusetts

Honest, un-ironic rock with a sense of humor and purpose. Parallel Bars, Chef Diesel, Lunatic Dreyfus ...whatever--it's all about the music and the very few fans who like it. The songs are serious, but we're not.
