NEIL: This was the first original song I ever wrote and it came together very quickly in my basement. I remember we had to perform an original song for the PHS Battle of the Bands, and we were just doing covers up until then, so I sat down and consciously wrote a really simple love letter to Kirsten Storms, star of many Disney TV movies, my favorite being Johnny Tsunami. Yea, I stole the riff (different key), and the progression is nothing innovative but it works. Didn't Cobain say he ripped of "Teen Spirit" from a Pixies song? There are only so many notes in the scale...
